On Nov. 2, 2022 USCIS announced a change in our method for calculating orphan and Hague adoption case processing times. In response to this announcement, we received several questions from stakeholders that we address in this FAQ posted on our USCIS Electronic Reading Room (PDF, 136.04 KB).
We know that behind every adoption case is a child and a family, and we take this responsibility very seriously. We are always looking for ways to streamline our adoption-related processing. We will continue to adjudicate intercountry adoption cases as quickly and efficiently as possible and provide you with as much transparency as we can.
Engagement and Outreach
We welcome feedback from our adoption stakeholders. We are planning a USCIS national adoption engagement in the coming months. You may visit our Feedback Opportunities and Contact Us pages for information on the many ways you can communicate with us.
