Deputy Secretary of State for Management & Resources Richard Verma met with Seychelles Foreign Minister today in Victoria, Seychelles. The Deputy Secretary and the Foreign Minister discussed their shared commitment to democracy and human rights, both in the region and globally, and to confronting climate change. They agreed that the new U.S. embassy in Victoria and its return to a full-time diplomatic presence would bolster already strong bilateral cooperation, especially in combatting corruption, preserving ocean biodiversity and increasing maritime security.
