During this visit, the Ambassador will meet with senior government officials, civil society leaders, international partners, and other gender equality champions.
Led by the Government of Germany, Ambassador Rao Gupta will participate in a meeting of senior officials focused on global gender equality on June 3-4 in Berlin. During the meeting, officials will exchange views on pressing global issues disproportionately affecting women and girls, including conflict-related sexual violence, lack of economic security, rising global conflicts, and technology-facilitated gender-based violence.
On June 6-7 in Helsinki, Ambassador Rao Gupta will conduct several meetings with Finnish civil society and high-level government leaders, including the Ambassador for Gender Equality Katri Viinikka and members of Finnish parliament, on joint efforts to advance Women, Peace, and Security and gender equity and equality.
On June 10-11 in Paris, Ambassador Rao Gupta will co-chair the inaugural Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Forum on Gender Equity: Navigating Global Transitions. The Forum will cover important topics including gender equality and climate action, the digital gender divide and the gendered impacts of digital technologies, and cross-cutting structural barriers to gender equality.
