Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs Jennifer R. Littlejohn will travel to Australia, New Caledonia, and Fiji from October 21-31 to lead the U.S. delegation to the Pacific Community (SPC) conference and show strong U.S. support for the region and its climate resilience, oceans, and science and technology goals. The visit builds on strong U.S. engagement with partners in the region, including at the 52nd Pacific Island Forum Leaders Meeting and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s upcoming State Visit to Washington, D.C.
While in Fiji, the Acting Assistant Secretary will launch a new Gender Equity and Equality Action (GEEA) Fund grant in support of Pacific women’s and girls’ crucial role in climate and clean energy solutions.
