Ambassador at Large for Cyberspace and Digital Policy Nathaniel C. Fick will travel to Maceio, Brazil from September 11-13, 2024, to attend the G20 Digital Economy Ministerial on September 13.
Prior to the official start of the meeting, Ambassador Fick will participate in bilateral meetings with G20 counterparts, discussing topics including AI, 5G, Open RAN, digital freedom, undersea cables, and more. Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), a topic introduced under the Indian Presidency of the G20 in 2023, digital inclusion, connectivity, information integrity, and AI are on the agenda for the Ministerial this year. Ambassador Steve Lang, U.S. Coordinator for International Communications and Information Policy in the Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy, will attend the G20 Digital Economy Working Group from September 9-11 also in Maceio, Brazil.
