Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara Leaf will travel to Israel and the West Bank June 17-24 and to Jordan June 24-25.
In Jerusalem, the Assistant Secretary will meet with senior Israeli political and military leadership to discuss areas of mutual interest, including expanding and deepening Israel’s integration into the Middle East and constraining Iran’s destabilizing behavior. In Ramallah, Assistant Secretary Leaf will meet with senior Palestinian leaders to discuss priority issues in U.S.-Palestinian relations, including U.S. efforts to support the Palestinian people. During her visit, the Assistant Secretary will also meet with both Israeli and Palestinian civil society.
In Jordan, the Assistant Secretary will meet with senior Jordanian officials to discuss shared bilateral and regional priorities.
