Assistant Secretary of State for Arms Control, Verification and Compliance, Mallory Stewart, will travel to San Francisco, Stanford University, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), and University of California, Berkeley, during the week of October 24-27.
While in the Bay Area, she will participate in industry and academic roundtables focusing on emerging technologies and arms control. Assistant Secretary Stewart will also discuss shared priorities in defense and global security topics with officials at the LLNL and give keynote remarks to a workshop at UC Berkeley. The workshop will examine the challenges and prospects for arms control and cooperation in the existing geopolitical environment.
