Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell will travel to Belgium, the United Kingdom, Lithuania, and Iceland September 9-13.
In Brussels, the Deputy Secretary will lead the U.S. delegation in the seventh U.S.-EU Dialogue on China and in the sixth round of U.S.-EU High-Level Consultations on the Indo-Pacific. While in Brussels, he will also meet with senior EU, NATO, and Belgian officials to discuss a range of shared priorities.
The Deputy Secretary will then travel to the United Kingdom for bilateral strategic consultations with senior UK officials on regional and global issues, including the PRC, the Indo-Pacific region, Africa, the AUKUS partnership, and the responsible use of emerging technologies.
While in Vilnius, the Deputy Secretary will lead the U.S. delegation in a dialogue with Lithuania on the Indo-Pacific region. He will also engage in quadrilateral high-level consultations with Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian officials. In Vilnius, the Deputy Secretary will meet with leaders of the Belarusian democratic movement.
In Iceland, the Deputy Secretary will meet with senior Icelandic government and legislative officials and lead a high-level U.S. delegation to consult with Iceland on the Indo-Pacific region.
