Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell will travel to Brussels, Belgium, May 28-29 for meetings with counterparts at NATO, the European Union, and the Government of Belgium. His visit will underscore the strength and unity of the transatlantic partnership and its critical role in global security and prosperity. At NATO, the Deputy Secretary will address Allies at a North Atlantic Council meeting and meet NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană to discuss progress toward the Washington Summit. The Deputy Secretary will meet European External Action Service Secretary General Stefano Sannino to further U.S.-EU partnership in addressing shared challenges from Europe to the Middle East to the Indo-Pacific. The Deputy Secretary will meet senior Belgian government officials to discuss bilateral and regional cooperation to reinforce support for Ukraine and hold Russia to account.
