Secretary Blinken’s Travel to San Francisco

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will travel to San Francisco, California from November 13-17 to co-host the APEC Ministerial Meeting with U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai and participate in Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Week meetings.

In San Francisco, Secretary Blinken will advance our APEC host year policy priorities for an “interconnected, innovative, and inclusive” Asia-Pacific region under our theme of “Creating a Resilient and Sustainable Future for All.” The Secretary, Ambassador Tai, and their APEC member economy counterparts will conduct a series of discussions on key topics including supply chain resilience; science, research, and innovation; critical and emerging technology; clean energy; high-standards infrastructure; women’s economic empowerment; and inclusivity.

Secretary Blinken will also support President Joseph R. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s participation in APEC Economic Leaders’ Week and related events, including the APEC CEO Summit and the APEC Business Advisory Council Dialogue with APEC Leaders. President Biden and Vice President Harris will reaffirm the importance of U.S. economic leadership in the Asia-Pacific region and underscore the progress made during the U.S. host year.
