Ambassador-at-Large to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons Cindy Dyer, is on travel to Mexico October 9-12 to meet with Mexican government counterparts and civil society stakeholders to learn more about existing policies and share best practices on topics such as victim identification, data collection and reporting, and investigation and prosecution efforts. She will also discuss the recommendations in the 2023 Trafficking in Persons Report.
On October 12, she will participate in the sixth meeting of the Trilateral Working Group on Trafficking in Persons, hosted by the Government of Mexico. The Working Group was established out of commitments the United States, Mexico, and Canada made at the 2014 North American Leaders’ Summit to exchange information and best practices, as well as identify areas for increasing cooperation. During the 2021 North American Leaders’ Summit, the three countries decided to restart the Working Group to support our joint goals to combat labor and sex trafficking in the region.
